Insurance FAQs
What procedures does insurance cover at Arrow Dental?
Most insurance providers cover preventive and basic dental care (cleanings, simple fillings, basic extractions, checkups) in full at Arrow Dental. Major dental procedures like root canals, crowns, dentures, and orthodontics are partially covered when medically necessary. Purely cosmetic procedures (whitening, veneers) might not be covered. We handle pre-authorization for every covered procedure before treatment begins.
Do I need to pay anything upfront?
For covered procedures, no. We confirm your coverage before treatment, so you know exactly what your share will be. Any co-pay required by your insurer is communicated upfront.
What if my insurer isn't on your list?
Send us your insurer’s name on WhatsApp at 0740 187 579 before your visit. We accept many more providers than the 13 logos listed here — including corporate health schemes, smaller brokers, and international plans. We’ll confirm coverage within an hour and let you know if any out-of-pocket payment will be required.
Does SHA cover dental treatment at Arrow Dental?
Yes, Arrow Dental accepts SHA, offering civil servants enhanced dental coverage under the Public Officers Medical Scheme Fund (POMSF) that extends beyond standard Taifa Care limits. Basic care procedures like cleanings and fillings is fully covered, while major treatments are funded by utilizing your standard SHIF limits first before triggering your enhanced scheme benefits. We handle the SHA pre-authorization directly at reception, ensuring a seamless process with no out-of-pocket costs for covered procedures.
How do payment plans work for braces or implants?
For major procedures like braces and implants, we offer flexible payment plans. You simply pay an initial deposit at the start, followed by monthly installments aligned with your follow-up visits.
Can I split payment between insurance and self-pay?
Yes. If your insurance only covers a portion of your procedure or you choose to upgrade your treatment, you can easily pay the remaining balance out of pocket. We provide a clearly itemized bill showing exactly what insurance covered and your self-pay difference.
Do all branches accept all the insurance partners listed?
Yes. Every Arrow Dental branch (Nairobi CBD (2nd Floor), Digital Centre (5th Floor), CPA Centre on Thika Road, and Thika Town) accepts insurance partners listed above. You will experience the exact same seamless pre-authorization and cashless billing across all locations.
