OPG X-RAY IN NAIROBI & THIKA

One Scan, Your Whole Smile

An OPG (panoramic) X-ray captures your entire jaw, teeth and sinuses in a single wide image, giving your dentist a complete overview in one visit.

What Is an OPG X-Ray?

An OPG, or orthopantomogram, is a panoramic X-ray that rotates around your head to capture a single flat image showing your upper and lower jaw, all your teeth, and surrounding structures such as your sinuses and jaw joints.

It’s a broader, faster alternative to taking several individual X-rays, and gives your dentist a useful overview before deciding whether more detailed imaging, such as a CBCT scan, is needed.

When OPG Is Used

An OPG X-ray is often one of the first imaging steps for cases that involve more than a single tooth, including:

  • Assessing wisdom teeth before extraction
  • Orthodontic and braces treatment planning
  • Checking for impacted or missing teeth
  • Reviewing jaw joint (TMJ) alignment
  • Screening for cysts, infections or bone abnormalities
  • General overview before complex or multi-tooth treatment
